“The CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) envisions a robust, vibrant and holistic school education that will engender excellence in every sphere of human endeavor. The Board commits itself to providing a stress-free learning environment that will develop competent, confident and enterprising citizens who will promote harmony and peace”.
TIPS aims to help each child become an independent learner while valuing the interdependence in the world during the five essential forming years of life. The primary programme offers a balance between learning about or through the subject areas, and learning beyond them. Students in the 21st century are faced with the challenge of learning about an interconnected world where knowledge is constantly developing. Recognizing that knowledge is not static, the program seeks to uncover enduring understandings through a concept driven, inquiry-based curriculum framework.
Important features of this framework are the explicit teaching of skills, the development of personal attitudes and student engagement in self-initiated, responsible action. Play-way method of teaching encompasses the basics of Languages (English, Hindi/Tamil), Arts, Mathematics, Social Sciences, Science, Computer Literacy, Music and Physical Education.
TIPS educates students to excel both academically and personally and to care and respect the school community and the community in which they live. Evaluation is an ongoing process that takes place throughout the year with daily quizzes, participation, projects and homework as part of Formative Assessment Strategies hence they enjoy doing them. Quality feedback and required actions are taken soon after the assessments which helps the children to progress further. Overall the curriculum is well balanced and helps the children to develop holistically.
